Born on May 1, 1945 in the village of Anwara Haildhar, this young child grew up in family and institutional education and graduated from Patia High School in 1958. In school life he was a very talented student. Whatever he did, he did with his mind and attention. He became one of the favorites of the school because of his closeness to study. This qualification took him to the well-established and reputed Notre Dame College in Dhaka. You know how popular Notre Dame College is today. Due to his indomitable will and attention to study, he was awarded a scholarship while studying at Intermediate that year. In the wake of this scholarship, he went straight to America for admission. After that he went there and took his admission in Illinois University of Science and Technology in America. He then continued his studies at the Business Administration at New York University.

There are names of very big people involved in the field of politics in Bangladesh who did not hesitate to give their lives for politics and for the country. Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu will be one of them. He had been very weak towards politics since 1958 when he was in school. He loved politics and his country very strongly. This love and dedication of Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu towards politics made him a member of South District Chhatra League at that time, which was his first step in politics. When he returned to the country after finishing his studies abroad and joined his elder brother’s business, he joined politics shortly after. He was able to successfully join the Bangladesh Awami League in 1967. This is the beginning of a revolutionary’s entry into politics.
