Early Life of Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury
He was born on 1st May 1945 in Chittagong and also spent most of his life there. There is not much info about him, though one of his early entry into politics can be mentioned. In 1970, he was elected as Provincial Assembly for East Pakistan from Anwara-West Patia.
He was also involved in political activities under the Bangladesh Chatra League, and he has a remarkable contribution to several student movements in his time. One of his early political achievement is that he was the person behind organizing “Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra” in Chittagong during our liberation war.
Political Life of Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury
Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu was a benevolent man who devoted himself to the betterment of the people of Bangladesh. His legacy always inspires people to idolize him, and many people still believe him as their idol. The level of experience and diplomacy he holds was astonishing. He was doing good for the people till his death.
He was always trying to help deprived and poor people because it was his responsibility as a social or political leader. Nothing matters when it comes to setting an example of a better person so that anyone can follow with trust.
He was a recognizable freedom fighter and facilitator of Bangladesh’s independence fight. As a freedom fighter, his contribution to the country is always remarkable and considered bravery. He was also a devoted member of the Bangladesh Awami League.
Contribution in Banking Finance of Bangladesh
He has also performed a pioneering role in the banking sector of Bangladesh. UCBL – United Commercial Bank Limited is one of his outstanding achievements of Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu, was founding chairman. Till his death, he has served his powerful hold on the bank to improve the country’s financial growth.
Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu was not only a politician but also an enlightened man everyone loves and respects. It was the name behind the smile of poor people. He was a hero to his people and an admirable character for his family and his social life.
His social life was so simple that many people found him as general people walking on the street without any protection just for his people’s love. His social life above politics that’s why he always loved to be recognized as a social worker rather than a politician.
His Contribution to Social Improvement
He has done many charitable works in his area and built many schools and madrasahs for better education. His ethics was just about being a good human being, and he always worked towards his ethics. His friends are very proud to call him their friend because he always helped them when nobody answered their call.
This great martyr died in Singapore on 4th November 2012, and he was 67 years old when he died. Bangladesh has lost a star from the sky that no one can take his place or the love he had earned for his good work. Pray for him when you do and remember this great political and social legend.
